ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Michael Habern
WHERE I COME FROM
. I was born in Galveston, Texas in 1951. At the age of six months, my parents Reo and Frances Habern moved to Waco, Texas. Reo was the principal of North Waco Elementary School from 1951-1977. I built a home in Woodway in 2004 and I still reside in Woodway as my residence. I am married to Dannille Habern and we both attend First Woodway Baptist. I am a member of the Waco Kiwanis Club.
A THRIVING CAREER
When I was attending McLennan Community College, I was encouraged to start my own business by my business professor as I had a passion for the construction industry. That is when I started Habern Construction Company and have continued until my retirement. I have been involved in many projects in the Woodway, Waco and Baylor University area. It was in 2007 that I started serving Woodway on the Planning and Zoning and Board of Adjustments and this will be my 13th year to serve woodway as I am currently serving on the Planning and Zoning. Woodway is my home and I want to protect this great community from wasteful taxpayer spending.

In my time of serving on the Planning & Zoning Committee, I have always put the voice of the Woodway citizens first. My goal is to represent the best interests of all
Woodway residents and to ensure that their voices are heard in the decision - making process. As a candidate for the Woodway city council, I believe it is crucial to address the concerns of our citizens in a thoughtful and inclusive manor. The bottom line is that we the council must be good stewards with your tax dollars. Its your money, not ours, and we must listen to you. We must bring back transparency - community involvement-honesty and work for the citizens of Woodway.
